Sumitomo Corporation Overseas Industrial Park Department

On December 14, 2019, 200 elementary and junior high school students from the Thilawa area were invited to a classical concert. The performer is Junior Philharmonic Orchestra, which Sumitomo Corporation has supported for many years.

This is the first time for almost all children to listen to classical music live. They were listening to music by Mozart and Brahms with sparkling eyes, but the most exciting song in the hall was “Myananda” which everyone in Myanmar knows. The teachers were also very pleased. When we asked the musicians for their impressions of the concert the next day, they were impressed by the good manners of the children in Thilawa.

This was the moment when we realized that “Music has no borders.”. We hope to continue this event from next year on.
