July 23, 2023, Mr. Kawachi, Managing Director of Bangladesh SEZ Ltd. (BSEZ), delivered a presentation at the “Bangladesh Trade and Investment Summit” which was attended by approximately 300 distinguished participants. This summit coincided with the visit of Mr. Nishimura, the Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry of Japan to Bangladesh.

During the presentation, the overview of BSEZ was provided, highlighting the remarkable surge in inquiries from global manufacturers. Moreover, the presentation emphasized our plans for further expansion and development of BSEZ.

In addition, two Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) were signed in the presence of Mr. Nishimura: one MOU was signed with IRIS CO., LTD., a company that is planning to make investment in the BSEZ, and the other was concluded with BRAC Kumon Limited (BRAC Kumon) to provide educational opportunities to elementary schools in the vicinity of the BSEZ.

The BRAC Kumon project is part of BSEZ’s CSR activities, and we will continue our efforts to help children in the neighboring areas of the industrial park to realize their dreams and enrich their lives. BSEZ plans to promote this initiative in cooperation with the Government of Bangladesh, the Ministry of ICT and the Ministry of Education to ensure the educational opportunities through digital materials (Kumon Connect).
