【This Month’s Column】 Why Thanh Hoa Is Worth Watching —and the Opportunity Taking Shape with TLIP4
I’m Ito, currently based in Thanh Hoa Province, where I’ve been working on the launch of Thang Long Industrial Park IV (TLIP4) since September 2025. From this vantage point, it’s clear that Thanh Hoa is a region quietly—but steadily—gaining momentum.
Thanh Hoa Province doesn’t always come up first when people talk about Vietnam’s emerging growth regions—but that may soon change.
Since September 2025, I’ve been based here, working on the launch of Thang Long Industrial Park IV (TLIP4). From the ground level, it’s clear that Thanh Hoa is quietly but steadily building momentum.
At first glance, the province may feel unfamiliar to many, yet it offers a well-balanced mix of lifestyle appeal, historical depth, and long-term growth potential. Sam Son Beach, long popular for Vietnamese corporate trips, and FLC Golf Links add to everyday livability, while casual local “Bia Hoi” spots offer a relaxed, very Vietnamese way to unwind after work.
Thanh Hoa is also rich in history. The Ho Dynasty Citadel, built in 1397 and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands as a reminder that the region once served as Vietnam’s capital. It is also the birthplace of Le Loi, a key figure in Vietnam’s history.
Accessibility has improved significantly in recent years. A new expressway completed in 2024 reduced travel time from Hanoi to around 2.5 hours, and an AEON Mall scheduled to open in late 2026 will further enhance daily convenience. Housing options suitable for Japanese residents are also gradually increasing.
Set within this evolving environment, TLIP4 carries forward the Japanese-quality standards of the Thang Long Industrial Park brand, while positioning itself in a province with strong labor availability and growing logistics connectivity. Above all, it offers companies the opportunity to establish an early foothold in a region clearly on an upward trajectory. With a groundbreaking ceremony planned for this March, construction will soon begin.
If Thanh Hoa or TLIP4 has caught your interest, seeing it in person often speaks for itself. Whether over a site visit with a local beer or a stop by after a round of golf, we would be glad to welcome you.
